In 1984, the record company Max Music organized a contest in which they looked for people with creativity and ingenuity to mix songs. The competition ended up winning Miquel Fabrellas, nicknamed Mike Platinas who, as a prize, recorded the first disc of this saga with Javier Ussía . Curiously, Jose Maria Castells was in second place, and it was who took charge of the project with Toni Peret from the third volume. Until that moment, the only works of similar concept had been realized by Raul Orellana for White and Black Music . Although of a remarkable quality, the works of Orellana did not exploit to the maximum the possibilities of the creative mixture, something that did Mike platinas in the Max Mix , and still more in the second delivery of the saga and in successive productions. For this reason, Mike Platinas is recognized as creator of the concept 'megamix' in Spain.
