About Tom Troccoli's Dog
Tom Troccoli's Dog was a rock band from Los Angeles, CA that existed in the mid 1980s. Vocalist/guitarist Tom Troccoli was part of Black Flag's road crew and had participated in the Black Flag-adjacent groups October Faction and The Nig-Heist. Rounding out the band was drummer Davo Claassen (another Black Flag road and Nig-Heist member) and Black Flag leader Greg Ginn on the bass guitar. The trio's sole LP was produced by Ginn and released on SST Records in 1985. It featured contributions from Black Flag alums Chuck Dukowski and Dez Cadena as well as X frontman Jon Doe (appearing under the alias "Chuy Modello") and artwork by Minutemen guitarist D. Boon. The band also held the opening slot on Black Flag's 1985 tour. Songs by the band also appeared on a couple of SST comps, 1986's "The Blasting Concept Volume II" and 1991's "SST Acoustic".
