About Tjuvar, Knarkare och Kommunister

Tjuvar, Knarkare och Kommunister (Swedish for Thieves, Junkies and Communists) is a home recording synth pop project from Malmö, Sweden. TK&K was formed in 2003 as an exclusive project for a competition with another synth pop band, Kommunistiska Medlöpares Idrottsklubb from Östersund, Sweden. The competition was about who would finish recording a song first. TK&K lost; not surprisingly, since the band didn't even have proper synthesizers at the time. The three songs that were actually finished in 2003 were later released as "Hej EP" on the band's website. After this, the project went into hiding, and wasn't revived until 2008. The first sign of life in five years was the song "Malmö 26".
