About Tinkicker

The Beginning TINKICKER was formed in 2006 by composer/guitarist Søren Lindberg and lyricist/drummer Klaus Herfort. They had already composed what would turn out to be their debut album, they just needed the right singer to give the songs that extra needed touch in the progrock world. They found just that in Klaus Bastian. At a wedding reception they heard him singing in a covers band, they were so impressed that they asked him to be part of the project. The Debut “The Soliloquy of the Transparent boy” saw them handling everything from artwork down to the final mix. A heavy rock opera with savvy arrangements, prog influenced with heavy emphasis on the lyrics, and a strong concept throughout all the tracks. The story evolving around the soul searching of the main character, tied together with the actual Concorde plane crash on July 25, 2000. In 2008 TINKICKER were signed by the Russian label MALS, and “The Soliloquy of the Transparent boy” was released.. As a gesture to Russia the band reversed the N in their logo. As a tip of the hat to two of their big influences TINKICKER labeled their sound “Pink Sabbath”. “The Soliloquy of the Transparent boy” received fine reviews worldwide. The Playground at the Edge of the Abyss In the winter of 2010 TINKICKER recruited guitarist Kristian Møller, adding more firepower to the sound, and in March 2011 the second CD “The Playground at the Edge of the Abyss” was released. Again a concept album, this time though strictly non-fiction as all the tracks are based on true stories. The album is an overall heavier and darker offering than it’s predecessor, but also with a more immediate approach. “The Playground at the Edge of the Abyss” was received even better than the debut, and got great reviews from all corners of the world. The album received three nominations in the “Album of the Year” categories, one of them in Classic Rock magazine, as the first Danish band ever, nominated by legendary rock critic Geoff Barton. "The third album" In 2013 TINKICKER completed the lineup with bass player Torben Hedstrøm, and recorded their third, yet unreleased opus. Once again a concept album that can be perceived as a sequel to the first two, but also very much stands on its own. The album is described as a spiritual buffet, dealing with the fragility of life described from different perspectives. With blood spattered, and tear stained lyrics pinned to a wall of Marshall stacks, it offers the most ambitious work yet from the band. .
