About Tiburtio Massaino

Italian composer and Augustinian monk (c. 1550 - c. 1609). Fairly obscure as a composer today, he was active in many cities including Cremona, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Prague, and highly regarded as a musician and composer in his day. The motets come from a collection of six- to twelve-part motets published in Venice in 1592.
