About Throwback Suburbia

At a time when many see Rock n Roll as dead, Throwback Suburbia arrives with a healthy beating heart, Offering plenty of oxygen to the brain. In early 2005, songwriting and production team, Mike Collins and Jimi Evans decided it was time to create what it was they were missing in modern music. The two spent a year writing and producing demos that would eventually be the calling card for things to come. With a determination to return to the stage and bring their modern rock meets retro-pop sound to the masses, the two recruited bassist Eric French and guitarist Paul Bond. Throwback Suburbia played its first gig on February 3rd 2006 and since have already gotten the attention of A-list producers in New York, rave reviews on multiple blog sites and webzines, an array of chart toppers and awards at garageband.com and play at several Internet radio stations. They've even received stamps of approval from some of their heroes including members of Jellyfish, David Bowies band, The Tories and Squeeze. These Neo Power Popsters have found a sound and a chemistry that reminds us of a time when music was more than a disposable commodity. You cant help but hear the influence of classic artists such as Tom Petty, Cheap Trick and Queen as well as more modern influences like Butch Walker, Rooney and Ok Go. In a very short time they seem to have found the "It" factor rarely seen in new bands. Collectively these four individuals are irrefutable. All being musical purists, they seem to have conjured up the heart and soul of everything we love about rock music. Throwback Suburbia blends infectious hooks, pop sensibility and a confident yet unpredictable Rock n Roll attitude that can be described as immediate and refreshingly familiar. If you should find yourself having trouble locating a pulse in todays music, Throwback Suburbia is a true testament to Rock n Roll being alive and well. www.myspace.com/throwbacksuburbia
