About This Grey City

This Grey City is the new Post-Punk project by Yannick Rault, Oliver Lang and Paul Fiction (No Tears). Back to the authenticity with analog sound of the 80's, bass and guitars like the old Cure / The Glove and Bauhaus, Original, poetic and full of rage compositions with the same melancholy as the cold wave era. A first studio album of 13 tracks released in CD and digital in early September 2014 on Str8line Records. It will come with a vinyl EP 5 tracks including a previously unreleased track named "Fade Me" and the cover of "Green This City" originally by The Glove, This Grey City also participated in several compilations projects including the famous tribute to Etienne Daho "Pistes Noires" on Boredom products (with the track "Epaule Tattoo" and lately for Unknown Pleasures records with the Gary Numan' "Are friends electric?" cover on the compilation Neo Romantix Years. End of 2015, This City offers a free album "Tribute to" Asylum Party, Bauhaus, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Etienne Daho, The Glove, Joy Division, Gary Numan and David Mc Williams. Retour à l'authenticité des sons analogiques des 80's, de la basse et des guitares des vieux Cure/The Glove et surtout Bauhaus pour des compositions originales, poétiques ou pleines de rage, souvent teintées du même spleen rock de l'époque cold wave. Un premier album studio de 13 titres sort en version cd et digital début septembre 2014 sur Str8line Records, Il est accompagné d'un vinyle EP 5 titres dont un inédit « Fade me » et la reprise de « This Green City » de The Glove. Le deuxième album baptisé tout simplement « II » voit le jour seulement 1 an après jour pour jour et toujours sur Str8line Records, L'ensemble est plus homogène et les morceaux ont gagnés en puissance et en intensité. Le groupe a aussi participé à plusieurs projets de compilations dont le fameux tribute à Etienne Daho « Pistes Noires » sur le label Boredom products (avec la reprise cold electro du titre « Epaule tattoo » puis dernièrement pour le label Unknown Pleasure records avec la reprise de Gary Numan « Are friends electric ? » sur la compilation Neo Romantix Years.
