About Theo Uden Masman
Theo Uden Masman (Cheribon, Java, Indonesia March 15th, 1901 - The Hague, January 27th, 1965) founded the The Ramblers in Amsterdam in 1926 (making it the world's oldest ongoing jazz band) and led it until 1964. Though now best known outside of NL due to the fact that Coleman Hawkins toured with the band prior to World War 2, the band continues to enjoy a loyal following within the Netherlands. On post-war film his work includes the (Dutch) Nationaal Songfestival (1959), Een avond in Saint Germain des Prés (1955) and Biografie (1967). He was married to Pietje Cornelisse and Elisabeth Magdalena Paula Julie van der Leije.
