About The Utica Flower Company

The Utica Flower Company began as a musical collaboration between Smally (The Wheelies), Paul Burnout (The Real Burnouts), Bobby Rogan (Fig Mints of Your Imagination), and Luke Humann (Arthur Rules) from Cozy Home Records. In 2007 they made a lo-fi, pop-psych record by trading mp3s across the Atlantic Ocean. On the 1st of May 2009 a crew of individuals from Quixodelic Records and The Daydream Generation set sail on an imaginary ship called The Mardi as a real-life Flower Company. The idea was to produce a collaborative project over the course of a year using the written word, film, cartoons, and music, and to publish it as a book sometime in 2010. A second untitled Utica Flower Company record celebrating this unique collective work is currently being made by the surviving crew of The Mardi on an inflatable Ark in Unimerse 2.0.
