About The Unbending Trees

Ever thought what might happen if Leonard Cohen had sung in a post-Antony Hegarty world? Well, welcome to The Unbending Trees, the second signing to Ben Watt's Strange Feeling Records imprint. Following the success of the label's debut band, Copenhagen's Figurines, things are kept European, but there the comparison ends. Hailing from Budapest in Hungary, The Unbending Trees are a trio, and specialize in sparse, brutally honest, chamber ballads and slo-core pop. Kristof Hajos (vocals, words) was involved in various musical projects before founding The Unbending Trees back 2006. Havasi (piano) is a celebrated Hungarian pianist and graduated at the Hungarian Music Academy. Peter Hary (bass, programming) lives in the countryside in Kecskemét and loves New Wave, New Romantics and Gary Numan. They are all in their thirties. The First Day EP is out on September 24 2007 on limited edition double 7” and digital download. An album is due on Strange Feeling in March 2008. The Unbending Trees will be in the UK for dates in the autumn. The Unbending Trees (official website) The Unbending Trees on Myspace
