The Smilin' Scandinavians began in May 1995 when students at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. They're led by accordionist and singer Toby Hanson. The Smilin' Scandinavians are a polka band that covers the basic polka repertoire (Scandinavian, German, Slovenian, Czech, Polish) and plenty of other music for social dancing. At a typical show you'll get a good helping of polkas, waltzes and schottisches with generous sides of classic country, Dixieland, swing and Latin.
