About The Rob Franken Organ-Ization

Rob Franken's organ driven combo: Rob Franken - Hammond, Joop Scholten - Guitar, Ingo Cramer - Guitar, Piet Hein Veening - Bass, Louis Debij - Drums. Rob Franken (Rotterdam, 16 augustus 1941 – 7 december 1983) was a Dutch jazz pianist and organist. Rob Franken played in more than just Dutch jazz-circles. People who worked with him describe him as a slightly introvert, but purely musical sorcerer. He had great influence on the people he worked with, not only the younger, but also the elder, like Toots Thielemans for instance, with whom he toured Europe for several years. Rob Franken liked to experiment with new instruments, and was the first person in Holland who made good use of the electric Fender Rhodes piano. He died at the age of 42.
