About The Quarantined
As Jonathan Bates said, "Its like you're taking ALL the best parts from ALL the best music of Punk and old metal. Well done!" The Quarantined, led by Sean Martin on vocals, Alec De Kervor on Guitar, with their engaging songwriting, high energy and poeticism of self-destruction, The Quarantined bring another spawn of rock music, fusing standards from today and the cornerstones that built them from the Beatles to Black Sabbath to Pink Floyd. . Sean grew up singing since age 4. He always had music in his life, playing constantly like a soundtrack. His father was a radio DJ, his mother a lover of opera and Classical music; there was always a wide pallet of music in the house. Once he started taking lessons from his local guitar Legend, Barry Marloff, he got tuned in to bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy, Nirvana, Metallica, Pantera, the Doors and Guns n Roses. After a turbulent adolescence, Sean took the anger and frustration from his youth in to the Army, where he deployed to Iraq with the 3rd/ 509th Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 4th Brigade 25th Infantry Division. Of course he took his guitar with him. Sean was released from the military with an Honorable discharge, in late 2007, when he turned his sights to Music schools armed with his GI bill. After not getting into some, he finally landed in LA at Musician's Institute in 2009, where he took his music knowledge to the next level, learning about jazz legends like Coltrane and Joe Pass, to studying Earth Wind and Fire, to Jeff Beck to Stevie Wonder; not just from a musicians point of view (how to play it) but from an engineers perspective (how to recreate something like it in the studio.) At MI, Sean played in many bands, one of which was with Alec De Kervor, who was also a guitar student at MI. Together, (and sometimes not) they cut their teeth playing down the Sunset Strip, but also around the Valley and other parts of LA, San Diego and Northern California. After taking classes in Sound Engineering, Sean started writing/playing/singing by himself while learning from great engineers/producers like Jim Morgan, T.j. Helmmeric, and Dave Issac, and created the start of the Quarantined in Musician's Institute's Studio A, when he recorded "Sex and No Regrets" in July 2011. But what will a betrayed prince do when he gets the keys to the kingdom?
