About The Peccaccdiccoxes

The Peccaccdiccoxes is a spoof alternative post-anti-folk band from Upland, California made up of band members Niko Rivera, and Wesley Peck. The name of the band is derived from a joke based on the last names of two of the band members and two former members, whose names are Chelsea Burdick and Kari Wilcox. The legacy of Kari Wilcox is carried on by Niko Rivera; however, the band has yet to find a replacement for Burdick. The Peccaccdiccoxes first arose in 2008, operating under the name George Orwell's Angry Butterflies, and writing primarily impromptu, unplanned songs by means of a single microphone and acoustic guitars. The band's lineup was very fluid, with the only consistent members being Peck and in early 2009, the band released their first single, "Sweatercows." Later that year, the band released their first EP, entitled "Night at Wes's," including "Sweatercows" and the band's most popular song, "AIDS (A Tribute to Ex-Girlfriends). However, with the rising popularity of "AIDS (A Tribute to Ex-Girlfriends)," the band felt that the musical development of the group was stunted by such a narrow field, and so Peck to begin their next musical endeavor, The Peccaccdiccoxes. Peck officially began The Peccaccdiccoxes in late 2009, and quickly began work on their first single. The song was met with raging success within the specialized genre, and the band's small, but loyal fanbase was eager for more material. Soon thereafter, The Peccaccdiccoxes released two more singles, "Hide the Eggs from Jesus" and "Tim-timaree," both of which met success, although not quite as much as their first single. With the motivation of three successful singles, The Peccaccdiccoxes contracted guitarist Niko Rivera, former member of George Orwell's Angry Butterflies, and began work on their first full-length album, tentatively entitled "Cab Mist: Hit;" however, the band met difficulties when in mid 2010, Rivera, a major contributor to the music writing, was forced to move due to extenuating circumstances. The Peccaccdiccoxes have been on Hiatus since Rivera's move, but Rivera recently returned to Southern California for school, and the band hopes to resume work on "Cab Mist: Hit" as soon as possible. The band has high hopes for the production and distribution of this album, stating that this album "will be reminiscent of [George Orwell's Angry Butterflies], but with more fucking awesome." In a recent interview, Peck stated "although [The Peccaccdiccoxes] have been on a long break, I am confident of our comeback. Guitarists like Niko and lyrical geniusesare hard to come by, and even if SoCal isn't ready for us, The Peccaccdiccoxes are going to take this state by storm. 'Cab Mist: Hit' will be like nothing you have ever heard before."
