About The Meerkats
There are two known bands with the title "The Meerkats" 1.The Meerkats are a surf rock band coming out of the South Bay in California. Known for their interactive performances, band members often swap instruments and engage with the audience during "Surfin Detective". The band's mascot, a blue dragon named Leonard, often makes special appearances on the band's Instagram and performance slideshows. The Meerkats often play with other South Bay local artists like Acolyte, Willowake, and Chloe Moser. 2.The Meerkats was a British indie rock band. A power trio, all of the band members lived in or around the Derby area, starting the group in summer 2005 after a chance meeting in a Nottingham music shop. Their EP 'Meerkats on Patrol' was released in 2007, with the band taking inspiration from Jellyfish and Ben Folds. No relation to Meerkat!
