About The Lunatunes
The Lunatunes was a Helsinki-based guitar oriented band that lived its heyday in the turn of eighties to nineties. First a Winner of the Soundi-magazine demo competition, then a favourite of critics and indie record-merchants alike, front page news in Estonia and live favourite of many, the Lunatunes ended up being an inter-Scandinavian / Nordic notable under Megamania record label. Ridden through its history by various band-members that were unwilling or unable to face the success that seemed always just a day away, The Lunatunes finally held the final band meeting and decided to give up after 8 years of struggling, noted as a pearl of its niche but never quite getting to reap the goods they'd sown. What's left is a huge pile of good songs, some competent musicians scattered around, forgotten promises, lots of good gigs fading to history in old VCR tapes... and best of all the memories. In memory of Juzi and Tero. May You rest in peace.
