About The Leo Bugariloves

The Leo Bugariloves was one of the most legendary groups that recorded for Bad Vugum, now defunct Finnish indie label that focused on leftfield punk and avantgarde rock. The band was put together on Christmas 1981 by Pupu Lihavisto and RukiVehr A. Kivi. Läjä Äijälä (of Terveet Kädet fame) joined the band in 1988, and shortly after that The Leo Bugariloves released their first EP titled Tsaeh. A string of singles and EP's followed, released by Bad Vugum. The Leo Bugariloves sound is based on bluesy rock 'n' roll spiced with primitive drum machine beats and pulsating Suicide-esque synthesizer melodies. Their lyrics are a nihilistic mashup of surrealistic poetry and humorous depictions of Finnish lifestyle plagued by alcoholism and depression.
