About The Led
The LED were a South African band that existed in the mid-1990s to early 2000s, they met as students at Stellenbosch University around 1994. Their name was derived from their fields of study, where the members were to become Lawyers, Engineers, or Doctors. Taking the first letter of each field and creating the acronym 'LED', thus naming the band 'The LED'. Though relatively popular during their time, for the current SA youth generation the name 'the led' won't ring any bells. The rock scene in South Africa has since Fokofpolisiekar and the emergence of MK boomed. Looking back. the the Led can be considered pioneers of the scene that was to follow Dikskougrafie: 8 Days - 2001 - Full Length 2am - 1999 - EP Last Evening's Dreams - 1996 - EP
