About The Jeff Tucker Extravaganza

The Jeff Tucker Extravaganza was formed in 1999 by Jeff Tucker, Danny Extravaganza & Rudy Extravaganza. After the break-up of Oddlager (Danny & Jeff's previous band). Jeff had begun writing his own material and expressed interest in starting up another band. Jeff, Rudy & Danny began practicing at TRU-One Rehearsals in Santa Fe Springs, California. TRU-One Records, A&R Chuck Dietrich and Robert Trujillo wanted to to sign a punk band to their newly formed label. They saw Jeff, Danny & Rudy practice a few times, and began to show interest in the trio. Chuck offered Jeff and the guys a record deal with the label, and began recording "Avoiding Confrontation" the debut full length by The Jeff Tucker Extravaganza. .... At this point, the band didn't have a name. Other than being a newly formed group, just starting on the songwriting process, the name came up on a whim when Danny was asked, what name to schedule the band under for practice. Danny said, "The Jeff Tucker Extravaganza" and the name stuck. During this period of time, Rudy left the band to re-join The Brotherhood of Death. Joel, a friend of Danny & Jeff's filled in and soon became the permanent Bass player. Joel went into the studio with Jeff & Danny and began recording. The album took months of recording, due to long nights of alcohol drinking and screwing around in the studio. Once the album was completed, Joel played various shows with the band. .... One night at a show in Huntington Beach, Kirk came into the picture. Kirk was playing in a band called Ruined, and came to the show to give Jeff, Danny & Joel copies of the new CD he had made graphics for. Danny asked Kirk if he would do graphic work for J.T.E's first E.P. "8 Tracks, 1 Room & a Mic". Kirk agreed and began hanging around the group. Jeff had always wanted a second guitar player and Kirk expressed interest in being the 4th member. This 4-piece lasted one night. Due to personal differences, Joel quit the band and joined The Brotherhood of Death. See a pattern? Kirk then filled in on Bass for a couple shows, until Dustin came into the picture..... Dustin is the lead singer for Ruined, Kirk's other band. Dustin offered to play bass in the band, and did so, playing a couple shows and recording Bass tracks on "E.P.=mc2" J.T.E's 2nd EP, while Kirk played rythym guitar on the CD. Dustin's schedule didn't permit the dedication that the band had wanted, so Dustin departed from the band. Kirk went back to playing Bass, until yet another Bass player came around. Elijah. Elijah, played a series of J.T.E shows, before stepping out of the band. Yep...another Bass Player gone! Kirk stepped down from guitar once again...and picked up the Bass. Jeff, Danny & Kirk decided that keeping the band a 3 piece was the best decision. They began touring in July of 2000 and played various shows throughout California and Arizona. Then, in 2001, Danny left the group and Jeff and Kirk decided to form another band with a new sound, ..Rock Kills Kid... Members Jeff Tucker- Guitar, Vocals .... Captain Kirk Extravaganza- Bass .... Danny Extravaganza- Drums
