Blackened doom / post black metal from Breda, The Netherlands The Fifth Alliance is a blackened doom/post black metal band where intensity, melancholy and emotions play an important part in the compositions. After debuting with the well-received album 'Unrevealed Secrets Of Ruin' (2013) and the critically acclaimed second album 'Death Poems' (2017), The Fifth Alliance returned in 2019 with 'The Depth Of The Darkness' which was released worldwide through Consouling Sounds (BE), Burning World Records (NL) and Init Records (US). Powerful and dark, 'The Depth Of The Darkness' is aggressive and caustic, yet loaded with atmosphere and deep emotions. With the recent reinforcement of Natalya Thelen (vocals - ex-Yantras) and Peter Scheffer (drums, also in Soliton) the band just finished recording a brand new album called 'Stenahoria' in June/July 2025 at Hearse Studio, Heule (BE) while mixing/mastering being done by Mendel bij de Leij (ex-Aborted). Early 2026, The Fifth Alliance will return with a new album 'Stenahoria' – a dark and compelling work that once again pushes the boundaries between doom, post-, and black metal. Central to this musical storm is new singer Natalya Thelen, whose voice elegantly switches between raw intensity and fragile beauty. With her versatile vocal range, she elevates the band's sound to a new, emotionally charged level – from haunting whispers to heartbreaking wails. An album that not only sounds heavy, layered and full of intensity, but also gets deep under the skin. Expect a blistering new album full of aggression, dark emotion and high-speed action to take the listener on an all consuming trip.
