There are at least two artists who have used the name The Cowboys: 1. An indie/alternative garage rock band from Bloomington, IN https://thecowboysnow.bandcamp.com/ 2. Previously, formed in 1980 in Columbus, Ohio. Members were Mark Eitzel, Larry Rep, Pete Satckelberg, Brian Emch and David Wise. Renowned for their live shows in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Akron and Dayton. The band played approximately 50 shows and were one of the pioneers of the Columbus, Ohio alt music scence. Emch and Wise went on to found The Royal Crescent Mob and Eitzel went on to found The Naked Skinnies and The American Music Club.
