About The Checkout Girls

http://thecheckoutgirls.com/ http://www.myspace.com/thecheckoutgirls THE CHECKOUT GIRLS As fate would have it, the Checkout Girls have finally arrived. Brothers Tim (vocals, guitar) and Matt Bader (bass, vocals), and friends Dave Patrikios (guitar, vocals) and Dave Foy (drums), have been orbiting each other for years. But it wasn’t until very recently that the boys aligned on their current crash course for customer satisfaction. Service With A Smile Combining East Coast precision with West Coast song-craft, the Checkout Girls’ distinctive sound conjures notes of the Replacements, Tom Petty, Wilco, and classic U2. Soaring melodies and expressive lyrics wrap themselves around explosive rhythms. They bully their way into your imagination and demand attention. Experience A Must Separately and together in many iterations, the boys have supported No Doubt, Matchbox Twenty, the Strokes, Blondie, and Joe Strummer; recorded with Jeff Cain, Steve Albini, John Siket, and Martin Bisi; and logged countless road hours in as many states and countries. The Express Line In June of 2009, the then-nameless group got together for their first rehearsal. (On the docket for the afternoon: muscling through the Replacements’ “Left of the Dial” and Hüsker Dü’s “Don’t Wanna Know If You Are Lonely”.) Six short months and 10 original songs later, the Checkout Girls have performed multiple times around the Los Angeles area, including their debut show at renowned Hollywood venue, Hotel Café. The release of the powerful six-song Checkout Girls EP is more than just another notch in the belt of this experienced band. It’s a line in the sand between music that tells you how to feel, and music that lets you decide. The Checkout Girls EP is available now. Thank You, Come Again
