About The Brotherhood of Lizards
The Brotherhood of Lizards were the product of Martin Newell, former leader of The Cleaners from Venus, and Nel, former bassist for the Cleaners. The duo released one home-made cassette album, which lead to them being signed by Captain Sensible's Deltic records. The Duo promoted the album via a cycle tour, appearing and playing in record shops, and busking to promote their shows. The group officially dissolved due to Nel getting the job of bass player for New Model Army. However, Martin and Nel still work together on Martin's solo albums.
