About The 1985
The 1985 were a noise rock band with a lot of soul from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, existing from 1996 to 2001, who came across best through their energetic and raucous live performances. They released two LPs, Nerve Eighty on Progeria Records, Obscured by Pink Clouds on Carbon Records, and a handful of singles including a split 12-inch single with the Dutch group Solex, and a final release on Monoton Studio. The 1985 played with Providence’s Arab on Radar, a good number of times. And, as one of Pittsburgh's more sexually active bands, had a sound that reflected this. In 2000, two of the members suffered severe penile fractures (unrelated to each other), which caused the band to significantly slow down, then eventually cease operations Members have since went on to form microwaves, and the instrumental horror-prog group Zombi.
