About The Young Scamels
In 2008, Christian Frederickson, Greg King, and Jason Noble were commissioned by the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville to compose and perform original music for a production of The Tempest, by William Shakespeare. The production was directed by Marc Masterson, and featured the work of resident Sound Designer Matt Callahan. The group released a CD under the band name ‘The Young Scamels’ in 2010. ‘Scamels’ are mentioned by Caliban in The Tempest as some sort of tasty treat found among rocks near the sea. C.
