Formed in Adelaide in 2007, THE WATERSLIDES make euphoric sample-based pop. On stage the Adelaidian five-piece delivers a dense wall of delirious, melodic house-hop-disco-rock-dance at deafening volume. Founders Luke Eygenraam and Tim Whitt strive for “the energy, chaos and punk-rock spirit of history’s best live acts.” Punters who’ve already witnessed THE WATERSLIDES report a heavenly sensory onslaught somewhere between Daft Punk and The Flaming Lips. The band has supported Modular thoroughbreds Van She and Bumblebeez; played the Big Day Out, Parklife, and St Jerome's Laneway Festival; opened for Dukes of Windsor; remixed The E.L.F. and Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!; and (evidently) learned to name-drop. THE WATERSLIDES will host an extravagant hometown launch for the debut EP "Julie's Dumplings" in late 2009.
