About The Texettes

The Texettes are an Adelaide based acoustic original music trio consisting of Terry Bradford (songwriter / acoustic guitar/vocals) Helen Ellis (vocals/marketing & promotion), and Dale (Dixie) Ackland (chromatic harmonica). An Adelaide DJ has described The Texettes as “a group that it is virtually impossible to pigeonhole ….mellow, bluesy, pop, jazzy, country…a whole heap of titles”. The Texettes first appeared on the Adelaide music scene in March 2000 as a 5 piece, evolving over the next 5 years to become a duo (Helen and Terry) and finally Dale officially joined them in March 2007. Since that time they have been performing as the Texettes trio. It’s said that things don’t happen overnight. Over the last 4 years the Texettes passion for what they do and their persistence to ""keep on doing what you’re doing, don’t change a thing, keep singing your original music”, is starting to have an impact on audiences, keen to hear “refreshing” new music.
