About The Sussed
The band formed in Pittsburgh, Pa in the winter of 1992. The origional lineup consisted of Dave Harris, Joe Fertitta, Joe Huffman, Jude St.Hill, and Jack Robinson. At the time when the band started, Pittsburgh's Punk scene, which boasted bands like Submachine, Aus-rotten and Anti-flag, had never seen a skinhead band. The Sussed in the beginning was almost blacklisted from shows due to the violent nature and reputation of the bandmembers. Never the less, with help from Jeremy and Bodahn from United Front, started Sta-press records and as their first release put out the "No Escape" 7in in early 1994. the 7in sold well and led to a spot on the 1994 Oi! fest in DC (the night after the riot) and for years The Sussed played shows with the likes of: The Business, UK Subs, Dropkick Murphys, Patriot and many local Pittsburgh Bands. The Sussed was also featured on Backstreets of american Oi!, Oi! we are the boys from Bronco Bullfrog and a few other compilation CD's. The 26 song CD "Sussed Out" was released in 1995. The music however was from the heart and you could tell the band had evolved over the years. The Sussed recorded a L.P. in 1997 right before the band split that was never released. A brief reunion took place in 2003 and alot of old friends and fans came out for the gigs. The Sussed paved the way for bands like The Traditionals, Weekend Warriors, Tommy Guttless and countless other Pittsburgh Streetpunk bands.
