About The Rocket Jocks
Once in a lifetime there comes a band that fairly bursts with talent, charisma, and amazingly energetic live shows. With intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics that challenge the mind and celebrate the human sprit. With majestic songs, face-melting guitar solos, and the dazzling good looks of a dozen movie-stars. The Rocket Jocks is not that band. Instead, what you have is a kinda dorky two-piece from Gisborne, New Zealand. Res Rapid tries to play bass and sing while Lucas "Fidget" Mucus tries to play guitar and sing. They have a drum machine, imaginatively called Drummy. Although Res and Lucas are pretty much crap, Drummy can actually keep a beat and, really, he’s quite good. Except when he runs out of batteries. Which has happened before onstage, around the same time that Res split his trousers from trying to pull off some Ramonesy “power stance” moves. Unfortunately that kind of thing seems to happen a lot… Res just can’t say no to the pies. Speaking of such things, The Rocket Jocks really like The Ramones. And Dungeons And Dragons, and Babylon 5, and all sorts of other science-fiction and fantasy stuff, really. If someone was into The Ramones or The Queers or The Lord Of The Rings or something like that, there's actually a faint chance they could actually like them. If someone didn't like that stuff though, then you can bet 10gp and your Sword Of Smiting +2 that they'd pretty much hate ‘em. Easy money. The Rocket Jocks have an 8 song E.P. out.
