About The Missing 23rd
The Missing 23rd were an old school hardcore band that started in the summer of 1995 in Oxnard, California. Their goal was to make noise that paid homage to some early punk heroes and possibly open some minds along the way - no real dreams and fantasies, there were in just for the tunes. The band soon exceeded all expectations, made several records, and shared the stage with bands like Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, TSOL, GBH... and bands like AFI, Good Riddance, Earth Crisis, Propaghandi... later. Throughout the years, The M23's music blurred the lines of punk rock, balancing old school aggression with modern day twist making it difficult to categorize. Heads were definitely scratched. But still, it was always about the music, the message, the band's anti-conformity, anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-homophobia, DIY, pro-positivity, pro-individuality, pro-education ethos prevailed no matter who was manning the dials.
