About The Exiles

#1 Formed in 1964, The Exiles were Bobby Campbell (fiddle, mandola, mandolin, guitar, vocals), Enoch Kent (whistle, vocals), and Gordon McCulloch (guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals). So named because the three, from Glasgow, were living and working in London. Campbell died in 1997, while Kent still sings in his adopted Canada. After the group’s debut LP, 1966’s Freedom Come All Ye, the follow-up was released in 1967. #2 Exiles (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Exiles IS a supergroup from Auckland, New Zealand formed in 2004 by Sean Sturm and Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper (for Sean Sturm, see The Nixons and Eye TV; for Mahuia BC, see Misfits of Science and Moana and the Tribe). Their songs and vids, "The One" and "Circles" are posted here; the image on this page depicts them in full virtual flight. "Close to Me" is their version of the Cure classic.
