About The Drowners (Vancouver, Canada)

A Canadian four-piece band from Vancouver, BC during the mid 90's and early 00's. The group consisted of Rob Fyfe (nee Gladdis) on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, David Pearlman (electric guitar), Paul Ray (Bass), and Wendell Boom (Drums). They shared the stage with other local artists like The Paperboys and The Matthew Good band. They regularly played in the Gastown district of Vancouver doing live shows in popular venues of The Town Pump and The Gastown Music Hall; it was the latter club where they were considered to lay their hat and call home. They were invited to play COCA West (Saskatoon, SK '97) where they showcased their talents for music agents alongside groups like Red Autumn Fall and The Gandharvas. They released only one album named 'Whatever', and have since broken up and continue to pursue their musical interests independent of each other.
