Formed in 1986 in the capital of Russia, Moscow, Teatr Teney that means Theater Of Shadows in English play some various, melodic and electronic-thrashing influenced heavy metal. Current line-up is: Denis Masharov - vocals Evgeniy Isaev - guitars Mihail Dementyev - bass Dmitriy «Coffin» Morozov - drums Fast and dash Russian band Teatr Teney raised during last few years. Their music varies quite much from one album to another; they play at many big festivals, so one may tell that Teatr Teney stands out against majority of Russian bands and lives interesting life. The new album is devoted to the Brazilian battle art Capoeira combining elements of acrobatic dance, fight and music. The lyrics are about the battles man fights every day, as with the surrounding world, so with the inner struggles. Great, melodic Metal from Russia with a good production reaches my headquarters. Sounds like newer ARIA and the vocals are very emotional and of course Russian, thus most metal freaks will be scared away right from the start. The band is very popular in their home country and you can hear that they didn’t start making music yesterday. The spectra goes from epic, balladesque mid-tempo tracks to heavy pounders with a dark note. Even if the songs would be in English, I still couldn’t compare it to any other band. It is traditional, exotic Heavy Rock/Metal with very atmospheric songs and definitely nothing for headbangers or speedies.
