About Tankhead
TankHead a.k.a. Automaton is a producer from Denver, CO by way of Texas. While in college, Tank made a mark in the Minneapolis Hip Hop scene as a part of Death Ray Scientific. While a part of the collective, TankHead formed a group with his childhood friend and fellow producer Smash Atoms. After a few different names, a few years in the oven, the two emerged as Strange Matter. As a part of Strange Matter, TankHead co-produced the album "Picking Flowers Next to Roadkill" by Kristoff Krane. "PFN2RK" garnered tons of positive press, had the track "Don't Mean a Thing" featured on Guitar Center's Fresh Cuts, and graced the Top 10 of College Radio. The album had features from Slug of Atmosphere, POS, and the late great Eyedea. Tank Head is currently working on a solo release as well as the follow up Strange Matter album. More details TBA.
