Calgary’s newest up and coming DJ and producer, Trevor Goertzen, aka TVG brings an entirely new genre, Freeform, to the Calgary electronic scene. He is also known to play UK Hardcore and DnB. Freeform is a truly polymusical genre, breaking the energy, emotion, fun, and fury of several musical styles into a bowl, and whisking them up into an irrepressible force. The wide-ranging influences of freeform make it possible for the sound to transcend the dreary perceived boundaries in dance. TVG’s mixing sets the bar with his perfectly harmonic mixes and carefully thought out flow of music. His first event played at was “Volition”, on June 10th, 2005. The crowd reaction was one of awesome force and energy. He knew then, that he could personally bring something big to the scene. Although TVG is a superb DJ, a lot of his talent is also put towards music production. In his youth, he spent hours everyday taking piano lessons, and playing on his keyboard. It was at this time that he was first introduced to dance music production. With the very basic sequencer and instruments of his keyboard, TVG created his own tracks by the age of eight. Now, TVG creates hard hitting, fast-paced tracks with his own fusion of styles. Be on the lookout for releases in the near future. NOTE: This artist should not be confused with California based TVG Hates TVG (TVG for short), the dnb/noise dj, producer, and owner of Pinecone Moonshine.
