TJ Young

About TJ Young

Country Artist, TJ Young, is a third generation professional singer/songwriter and entertainer. The daughter of career recording legend, Bob Edgar, TJ grew up listening to his voice on the radio and vowed one day to find him. That day came 36 years later and a father -daughter relationship is in the works. TJ herself has made a successful career of music since 1990. Her natural voice has a definite country sound with intonations of blues. She was meant for ballads and even does justice to rock ballads as well. TJ Young has blazed her own successful trail in the music industry as an independent artist in Utah. She started her career as a morning host on country KRGO FM, moving into the fast pace night clubs as a singer and mobil deejay then, finally into the recording world with several singles and eventually her first album done in Nashville. The second album is in the works with all originals by TJ and talk of work with her Son, singer songwriter James Young. From humble beginnings, TJ has not had things just handed to her. She works hard and it shows. Her favorite and famous quote, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." She is a sultry and magnetic person who makes other people feel good about themselves and attracts everyone from all walks of life, with a flash of her smile and the direct gaze of her eyes. She stands a regal 6 feet tall and gives the impression of stealth and prowess, yet is always available for a hug. She is fun to be around, yet mannerly and gracious. On stage TJ expresses herself with grace and charm. She is a gentle performer but stands on the edge of the stage to connect with her audience as though she just can't get close enough to them. TJ Young is a country-rock crooner and is best described in the words of Legends Hall of Fame Producer, Robert Metzgar; " Of all the great voices in the country music business, TJ Young's rendition of "Every Once n A Blue Moon" will make you feel like you've just heard Patsy Cline sing "live " at the Grand Ole Opry. It will take you back to the days when legends walked among men. Legends like Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline and June Carter Cash don't come along in life very often. That's why TJ Young's music touches you so deeply. She is of the same cloth, the same passion, and the same hit songs. If you want to book an average singer at your venue, that's one thing, but if you want to book a voice that stars are made out of, then get TJ Young for the crowd you want to come back over and over. You wont be disappointed. TJ Young is a consummate professional, a true entertainer with all the class you would expect from a Grand Ole Opry Star in Nashville. Her album and her life speak volumes about the greatest legends in the music industry. As you listen to her latest album, "Every Once in a Blue Moon," you are reminded that great female country singers only come alon that same way, once in a blue moon. And this voice says it all. Congratulations on one of the great albums I have worked on in the City of Nashville, Sincerely Yours. Robert Metzgar Legends Hall OF Fame
