Synnøve S. Bjørset was born 1979 in Jølster in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, and is one of the finest interpreters and musical narrators of the hardanger fiddle music. She is a member of the acclaimed band Majorstuen. Bjørset focuses on creating music that is simple and authentic, but also powerful, expressive and innovative. In her playing she emphasizes the rythmic and melodic subtitles of hardanger fiddle music, and she aims at conveying this special groove to the listener.
