About Sunlight Machine

Sunlight Machine is now known as Lillian Gish. Please revert any iTunes etc material from This is Not an Exit-onwards to that name. Two members of a South-East London public school, having spent the past 4 years in fairly unsuccessful Gothic Rock / Metal bands such as Children of Caine, The Hemlock Party, Porphyria, and Harlequeen, came to the realization that they had been the only constantly appearing and ambitious members in all of these bands. As such, having just spent a relatively creative-free year, they decided to have one more crack at it, in their last year of 6th form. Sunlight Machine was born - a Shoegaze and IDM-influenced Electropop / Darkwave band, naming all their songs after My Bloody Valentine, Sunlight Machine released a number of songs that were eventually collected and released as 'Stardust Remedy' (named after a song by The Jesus and Mary Chain). Still somewhat unhappy in their work, they decided to change their image and their sound. They increased the "dark", decreased the "wave", and became the Psychedelic Noise Rock, or occasionally self-dubbed "Avant-Gaze" band artist]Lillian Gish
