About Subway Mirror

"Was formed around the early 90's. The original idea was to be a crazy "jump around the stage happy grunge" band. We even decided to tune the guitars in a special way so it'd be easier to look cool on stage when we played (those were the days!!!) The very first rehearsal was me on guitar, Peter "Edwin" Edwinzon on Guitar, Velo Rytsy on bass, Fredrik "Marve" Ohlson on drums and Andreas "Dread" Axelsson on vocals. Dread kept skipping rehearsals and the rest of us got tired of the whole thing. Edwin joined the army and Dread formed The Lucky Seven with Benny Larsson. So me and Marve and Velo formed O. We later added (:the circle) to the name. We actually had a name using a symbol instead of a word long before Prince!! We recorded the demo "Prime" just a few days after forming, and I still remember some of the first rehearsals where we played a bunch of songs from Nirvana "Nevermind" (It was brand new then) thinking "Shit, these songs rock, we can play them live and people will think it our own songs!!!" Well, we all know what happened to "Nevermind". We did another demo "Golliwog" and by that time Edwin had heard the first demo and decided to join after finishing his army duties. His first appearance was on the track "Waterfall" recorded for the "Volume I" promo EP we did together with Screed, Wounded Knee and Tom Nouga. After that we recorded the demo "RaQ" where the cover was the only cool thing. It sounded awful production wise and we added too much Unicorn elements (keyboards/Acoustic guitars etc.) to the sound and we decided to scrap it after a while. After this blow to the self esteem we decided to reform as Subway Mirror and go back to our "grunge" roots. We wrote a bunch of new tracks and released "jpp" in a very limited edition. We also made a bunch of low budget (50 skr for the fuel to set things on fire) videos (there are two more made, that I will upload later, they will need more restoration than I can handle at the moment) After this we pretty much faded away. Years later I decided to revive the project temporarily. Mainly to re-record the songs from "Raq" that sounded awful and to make a final show (Available in the video section) We were this close to score a deal with White Jazz records but after some disagreements on the look of their cover suggestion they let us go."
