About Strictly Biz
Strictly Biz spent the better half of 2012 touring and performing in different cities to expand their musical audience and influence. On July 3rd, 2012, they released their first official single of the year, I'm On. The anticipation for the track was due to a successful promotional video on YouTube that received over 17,000 hits in less than a week. They plan to release at least 4 more singles thi s year that will be catered for radio play, nightclub play, and performances. They will also be shooting a couple of music videos to compliment the more popular single releases. Strictly Biz has performed in many venues in the Charlotte Metro area, as well as in many cities mainly throughout southeast region. They were also a featured act during one of the popular Coast 2 Coast Industry mixers in Atlanta, GA. They are currently in the process of releasing multiple singles for 2012 to be featured on radio and played at surrounding nightclubs. During that time, they will continue to perform while they establish their musical catalog that they hope one will help establish them as indie label with major label talent. Even though Strictly Biz are in the process of carving out their identity as a group, their strongest asset in each artist’s uncanny ability to be lyrically strong and creative on just about any style or concept song. After creating a buzz on the local hip-hop scene, the stage had been set for a much-anticipated release from the newly formed super group. So in 2010, the label released its first collective mixtape titled “Palmetto State of Mind: Perfect Timing”. The project was a collaboration of solo and group songs to display the lyrical and creative diversity as artist, and to serve as a viable introduction as a label to the hip hop audience. The release was successful in that it changed the stigma of what hip hop artist from the Carolinas sound like, and that there are still artist able to be entertaining but not have to compromise integrity of the music. In 2011, they released their 2nd mixtape titled “ Palmetto State of Mind 2: The Rock Reloaded”. This installment included features from other respected artist, and displayed an even more established and cohesive sound in comparison to the first project. Now with the stage set for their rise and more established musical identity, they have been heavily in the studio preparing to release a string of potential hits before the end of the year. They are currently working with talented new producers nationwide to diversify their sound, including Da Vinci and rising super producer The Agent. "Right now the music itself is the most important thing. There are still so many people who haven't heard our music and don't know who we are. I feel the best way for us to accomplish that is to have a diverse catalogue of music that translate well to the underground and mainstream hip-hop fan alike," declares Da Vinci. They not only want each song to be a representation on their generation, but to reflect all the different aspects of each person's personality, perception, and life story. K Breeze says, "When you listen to our songs it's like musical journey. A person can feel the energy from a song like Ride Wit Us, the triumph of All I Know, the swagger of D. Rose, and the strength of the human spirit like Gonna Be Alright." Strictly Biz has a definite direction for their music and how they want to represent themselves in this music culture. "We will continue to hone our craft to find our true musician voices in this business. We just have to make sure we keep the same work ethic, dedication, and integrity, and to always stay humble and be true to ourselves regardless of success," Da Vinci says. Between having two strong mixtapes under their collective belts, releasing multiple promotional singles, touring, and performing, Strictly Biz is set to have a big year in music.
