About Stormy Petrel
Stormy Petrel was one of many monikers used by prolific British hit writer, John Carter. Under the name Stormy Petrel he issued just one single, 1971's 'Hello, Hello, Hello'. It wasn't a hit, but Carter was one of the key backroom figures of his era. he left his band, The Ivy League, in 1966, to concentrate on songwriting and production. After briefly masquerading as The Flower Pot Men he established his unimpeachable bubblegum credentials with a handful of hits for Herman's Hermits and the U.S. chart topper 'A Little Bit O'Soul' for Music Explosion. He had many different aliases and musical vehicles thereafter.
