About Stereobate

Brooklyn indie rock heroes Stereobate formed around 1997, releasing a split 7 (with The Distance Formula), an EP and a single LP before finally calling it quits in 2005. Their sound has been described as "mathematical rhythms, pop dynamics, and hallucinatory noise", finding a balance between instrumental shoegaze moments, waves of distortion and DC style soft/yell/soft vocals. Girls Against Boys keyboardist Eli Janney was involved in the production of their only album, Selling Out in the Silent Era and the unreleased followup EP, Uptown Downtempo. Jenks and Trip went on to form the rhythm section of Unlove. The myspace: http://www.myspace.com/stereobatetracks Another video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3kgLSs-lpPI
