Stereo Minus One (Dan Haines) is an electronic artist, formerly based in Cardiff and now operating out of Wellington, New Zealand. He has been releasing music on the machine records label since 2001. This has included 9 studio-albums. Dan is also featured on the Metal Machine Music and Machine Music 2 compilations and 'Alarums', from The Sound Inside Sound, was included on You're All Over The Map...Putting Flesh On The Bones Of The Dirty Work (Bai Mei Guei Wang, 2oo2) and 'The Night in Ruins', from 2004's TOTL. album, was included on An Eloquent Mass: Experiments In Sound v1 (Kolorform, 2003). As Stereo Minus One, Dan has performed live and DJ'd with Mike Paradinas, Chris Clark, Mira Calix, Nathan Fake, Schneider TM, Cylob, dDamage, and many others, mostly at Machine Records' Terminal night, which ran in Cardiff every month between October 2003 and September 2006.
