About Steinar Albrigtsen

Singer Steinar Albrigtsen was born in Hammerfest in Finnmark. His early exposure to music was not limited to his native country though, since his father, a sailor, returned home often with music from the different ports he had visited. In the early '80s, Albrigtsen switched his full attention toward a professional career in music. It wasn't easy and there were many highs and lows along the way, but by 1990 he had recorded an outstanding debut album, Alone Too Long. Two years later he finished a sophomore offering, Bound to Wander. It was followed in 1993 by Big Storm Comin' and then the next year by The Troubadour. In 1996, Albrigtsen's fifth recording, Life is Good, hit the market. With his first decade as an artist closing out, he managed to complete one more before the new millennium arrived, Now & Then. Some of the tracks fans can sample on Albrigtsen's works are "Habit of My Heart," "Standin' by the Waterfall," "Beginning of the End," "I Can't Get Close to You," and "Still One Broken Heart." Over the years, he has pulled together a number of skilled musicians to help him achieve just the sound and style he wanted on his recordings, including artists like bassist Svein Aarbostad, violinists Anne Strengehagen, and Andre Orvik, harpist Tone Hulbaekmo, drummer Rune Arnesen, pianist Per Kolstad, and many others.
