Philadelphia's Spark Is A Diamond formed in the summer of 2006 mixing punk and hardcore, heavy dance beats, and alternating female/male vocal screams, that result in a style somewhere between Refused and Death From Above 1979. Featuring vocalist Alison Bellavance, guitarist/vocalist Matt Boylan, and drummer Joe Crawford, the trio have released records with Emerald Moon Records and Pluto Records. Spark Is A Diamond come from the ashes of old Emerald Moon Records alumni Fall River and Morning For The Masses. On September 17, 2009, vocalist Alison Bellavance posted a blog entry on MySpace stating that the band had broken up "due to personal issues."
