South American Beauty Culture is currently based in Austin, TX. The sole member has had formal guitar and music theory training. However, in the 1990s he played guitar in several punk informed bands in Austin. The Butthole Surfers were what enticed him to move to Austin and then he ended up staying, earning a BA and an MA in Art History from The University of Texas at Austin. Over the last several years he has trained himself how to record and mix using his cobbled together home studio. The result is an amorphous style that has written music for film soundtracks as well as dance floor ready club tracks.
