About Sonic Triangle

Sonic Triangle formed in late 2007 in an Edinburgh pub, when a songwriter who'd lost all inspiration and a singer who was afraid to sing decided to accept their destiny and embark together on what was sure to be a glorious cake of a journey, iced with the icing of fun and the edible ball bearings of personal development. Unfortunately, their first couple of years were a struggle to make anything that sounded remotely good, and so in 2009 they roped in a very capable musician who didn't play music much any more. (Well, who else would fit with their general vibe of talent suppressed and genius broken, crushed by a shallow and unforgiving society?) Interrupted by assorted frivolities such as work, university and trips to Costa Rica, the band proceeded to record their debut EP, When I'm Outta Here. Released on this very website in January 2010, WIOH's five songs appear on the surface to be about travel and distance, about sharing a heart across vast stretches of ocean, about denying yourself what might make you happy, about trying everything to escape the life you're in. But actually, listen a little deeper, and you'll see it's really about the Queen of the Chocolate Buttons, who was pushed off her throne by a naughty chocolate button usurper and rolled into the ocean, where she floated off to a land somewhere far away, where everything was symmetrical. She mourned the loss of her ray of sunlight, the King of the Chocolate Buttons, and wished that she could escape. But she couldn't, so instead she just closed her little chocolate heart to all and sundry. It's a sad story. In the future, expect more fun, weird, musically illiterate songs from Sonic Triangle. The best place to find their new songs will be our MySpace www.myspace.com/sonictriangle, or on our official website www.sonictriangle.co.uk, so do stop by once in a while!
