About Skilz
There are two bands with the name 'Skilz'. 1. Missouri native, born and raised in the inner city streets of Kansas City, Skilz formerly known as D. Skilz, has had a love for music all of his life. He learned to play the drums, as well as the piano, in his early childhood years. While singing with a Baptist youth choir during adolescence, he discovered his love for singing on the “mic”. Deciding then that he would excel in the music business, he began to define Skilz.(skills). Singing with many groups over the years has allowed Skilz to grow. He has a multitude of experience under his belt, having done collaborations with many artists throughout the years. He has been forced to mature through his experiences. He is no stranger to the many struggles of an aspiring artist. Possessing over 12 years in the industry, he has proven to be more than an amateur in the entertainment industry. Skilz began working as a producer for Mass Acre Entertainment/Mastermind Studios in 1997. In 1999, Skilz became a solo artist as well. With a unique style, he has displayed his talents on tracks such as “Saddle Up,” “Relationshit” and “How Lo” featuring R&B singer, The Dream. He is also the producer of the hit song, “Cadillac Love” for Wichita’s Twan Sac. Throughout the years, Skilz has produced, collaborated, and shared the same stages with National Recording Artists, Tank, Raheem DeVaughn, Tony Terry, Gerald Levert, RL from the group Next, Boys2Men, KC&JO-JO, USHER, 702, Tech9, B2K, Jagged Edge, SILK, DOC, Erakau Badu, H-Town, SWV, Destiny’s Child, V.I.C., AVANT, Pleasure P, and many more. But the hot note is that Skilz started his own independent label, C-Notez Records. In 2007 C-Notez Records released "A Late Night 'Bootycall'” album featuring R&B groups Rhythm&Pleasure & Emerge alone with C-Notez Record's first Rap artist, 2ANORMAL(paranormal), who has released his album, “Middle of the Map.” In 2009, C-Notez Records released Skilz's self-titled project, SKILZ, with NEW singles “THAT KUTT", "Datz da Kinda Shawty", & "Make Me Say”. In 2011, C-Notez Records and GH2 Entertainment teamed up to present album EP “Billy D.Will”, starring SKILZ aka Mr. Fantastik. Blazing hit single “Early Bird Special/Mr.Fantastik... 2. Skilz is also a Dutch TV-series on the Flemish TV channel 'VTMKzoom' (now VTM Kids). It was a series about friendship, music and supernatural powers. We follow 4 friends: Sofie (Bab Buelens), Kamiel (Stijn Steyaert), Lara (Charlotte Timmers) and Quinten (Arthur Le Boudec in season 1 and Lander Depoortere in season 2) during many adventures. The series has 2 seasons, began in 2011 en ends in 2012. The series never actually ended, because at the end of the second season you can read 'To Be Continued' and this has never been continued. They got one song 'Voor Jou (For You)', that was released on 'VTMKzoom Hits Best Of 2011', but they never released a full album. Other songs are 'We've Got The SKILZ', 'Jij Steelt De Show' and 'Directions To Your Heart'. They also talk about a song called 'You And I', but we never heard a full version of it.
