About Skewbald

Skewbald/Grand Union was a hardcore punk band from the Washington, D.C. area founded by former Minor Threat members Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson and also included guitarist Eddie Janney and bassist John Falls. Although commonly referred to as Skewbald, the group never actually settled on a name, as Ian preferred Skewbald but Jeff wanted to call the band Grand Union. The group was founded in late 1981 after Minor Threat broke up and ended in early 1982 after Minor Threat reunited, having never played live. Their sole recordings were released as 7" on clear vinyl in 1991 to celebrate Dischord Records' 50th release.
