Sir Vanity is a Japanese rock band that was formed in July 2019 by Yuuichirou Umehara (Guitar and Vocals), Yoshiki Nakajima (Guitar and Vocals), Satoru Kuwabara (Bass), and Taisei Watanabe (VJ and Creative Director). They announced the band's formation on April 1, 2020, leading many people to presume that it was an April Fool's Day joke. The band clarified that it was not an April Fool's Day joke, however, as they released their first single "Vanity / Haruka" on June 26, 2020. They released their first full-length album "Ray" on May 25, 2022, which placed 7th on the Japan Billboard Hottest Albums during the first week of its release. The band's name comes from the "conceited" nature of their music activities. They recently released their first mini-album, midnight sun on March 8, 2023.
